Thanks for coming by to read the adventures of the Kraft family! We realize that writing a blog can be a bit impersonal, but a great way to communicate in mass.
Sue and I have been living and working in church ministry here in Charlotte, NC since May of 2006. This past fall, it became clear that it was time for me to step down from my position of Pastor of Spiritual Development. The timing might not have been ideal, but in December, I resigned. It was a huge leap of faith because we didn't have another job to go to. Regardless, there is no doubt that the decision we made was a good one and we have felt completely at peace.
The past couple months have left us with a lot more questions than answers but we remain excited about what God has in store for us.
Here are a few opportunities in front of us.
1. I'm helping a couple great friends with a company called Brown Cow Designs. (www.gobrowncow.com) We work with churches to help them with all their design needs. Our hearts are really with seeing Church Planters have all the tools they need to succeed in the area of design, media and printing. I enjoy this a ton but it is all new and there isn't much money to be made right now.
2. Sue is talking about getting into tutoring. She would be an amazing tutor and she is excited about the chance to work with students again.
3. Sue and I have always had a heart for helping young couples. We have been offered the chance to work along side our great friends Gary and Ann Wooley who started a ministry called Marriage Plus. We have been involved with Marriage Plus for the past 6 years and it would be a perfect fit for us. The question comes in the area of financially being able to make it work. We'd have to raise support and we'd have to move back to Denver (wouldn't be all bad).
4. I've been talking to a couple of Christian high schools about being on staff as a school chaplain. It would be a good fit but I've had no offers. One of the schools is in St Louis.
So as you can see we could really use some prayers right now. We're open to advice too. I know many of you reading this have been in similar situations and we'd love to hear your thoughts.
